The story follows the final hours of a dying dog as she lies surrounded by the family, her “Pack,” who love her. Struggling to breathe and in great pain, she feels comforted by her Man, Woman, Boy, and Girl, who stay close, petting her, telling her she’s a good girl, and preparing to take her to the vet in the morning, though they fear she won’t make it through the night.
