We're on The Eve Of Destruction

I'm sad.

I'm really sad.

I am also very sickened, scared, and mad.

When I was a child, the television movie “The Day After” aired and scared the shit straight out of eight-year-old Josh. I watched the most realistic depiction of nuclear ever shown on American TV with horror.

I’d argue the British TV movie Threads is even more horrifying.

Ever since that day, I’ve lived in terror of nuclear weapons.

Fast forward 42 years.

I'm not a man of faith, and I don't see myself ever believing in one of the many human interpretations of a supreme being. But I wish there were a being I could beg to stop the madness we've unleashed on this world in the last 18 months.

There is one human being I could beg, and if I thought I had a shot to convince him to rescind this madness, I'd do the begging on my knees.

I'm not too proud.

But Donald John Trump the 1st, King of America, isn't a man, he's a monster.

We stand on the brink of a darkness we haven't believed in since before most of you were born.

Our "Leaders" have not only tacitly supported the wars of aggression and genocide committed by the State of Israel, but we are also now actively waging our own wars.

Inside our borders, every public program, whether part of the social safety net (SNAP, Medicaid, Medicare, etc.) or critical national programs (EPA, National Parks Service, NOAA, FEMA, etc.) has been shuddered or cut to the proverbial bone.

Add to that the nightmare that there are active wars against women, the working poor, the homeless, the destitute, Immigrants (legal and undocumented), education, science, and the literal truth.

There are concentration camps all across the United States of America. A paramilitary secret police force is terrorizing, beating, and killing our citizens all across the nation.

We once sacrificed hundreds of thousands of our children to stop this shit!

Now, the man you, Republican and MAGA bastards, put into office has us, and the world, on the brink of financial, environmental, and actual holocausts. This is on you, and I will never forgive you.

I want to be a better person and say I will... but I can't.
